Lego Star Wars is the best!

I owned both Lego Star Wars for the xbox and Lego Star Wars II for the 360. When this came out, I traded them both in and bought this new. It might not be worth it for everyone to do this, but it was for me. If you're already familiar with LSW, here's the differences I've noticed between having this edition vs. having the original two games:
- Episodes I, II, and III (the first Lego Star Wars game) are now fully 360 compatible, so they're in HD and you can earn achievements
- There's a new Cantina menu, so you can access all six episodes from one place
- The improvements made for LSW2 have been retroactively applied to LSW1, like being able to use vehicles
- Twice as many power bricks, which means twice as many special powers (consistently, many of them are funny and useless)
- The levels are the same, however there are several additions such as "power-up" bubbles (which make you briefly invincible and I think increase your weapons power) and blue minikit canisters
- A two-player section was added with a variety of arcade-style games.
- The points where the game was notoriously prone to crashing (crossing the river in Ep. VI superstory, for instance) seem to have been fixed. These problems didn't seem to affect everyone, but they did happen to a lot of people, and prevented me from finishing LSW2.
For me, it was worth buying just to get everything in HD and for the possibility of actually finishing the game this time!
If you haven't played the LSW games before, they're awesome. It's redundant for me to give all the reasons the games are awesome, so I'll just mention that one of my favorite things about it is that it's pretty easy. I can play it and unwind without worrying about dying over and over, and I still get through a level even if I'm distracted or not 100% sober. However, if you're a hardcore gamer, you may find the game to be too easy. The changes for The Complete Saga have made the game even easier. On the other hand, if you go for all the achievements, like undefeated on some of the vehicle levels, you will be challenged. |
Best of the series -- comparing to former titles

The Complete Saga improves over LEGO Star Wars II.
Load time is faster especially for character based levels.
The local co-op camera push bug (first AT-ST floating forward in Battle of Endor, and TIE Fighter turrets popping one player out every 30 seconds) was fixed. One player (in local at least) still needs to drop out sometimes to grab some minikits. (Still get stuck at the farthest, last Death Star Escape platform; don't go there.)
True Jedi only needs to be accomplished in Story or Free Play mode. I sort of miss having to get True Jedi in both modes. They replace that gold brick with a Challenge mode where they take away all extras enabled and give you a time limit to find 10 different (blue) minikits. I'd rather take the old trade since time based levels suck in general.
The lobby is better overall. While the outdoor area is smaller than ever, they make up for it by having two cars available! They also added "Beep-Beep" Extra for honking the horns while in the car. My girlfriend thinks that's the best thing ever. They add the band characters in the bar this time. The mini-kits are no longer in the way. They have a gallery for them which you scroll through. There is nothing for bounty hunters/super ewoks in the lobby.
The Jedi glow detection remains the same. Wish they improved it (needed some work -- should prioritize to items and characters over your own buddy). Some NPCs get stuck randomly (but rarely) and twitch in place like crazy. I think it's a new bug.
The grass areas have added lush. It's a nice touch.
There is a new LEGO City: "New Town". It's an improved version of LEGO City with dumber stuff removed and cooler stuff added (boat in water and power lines). Easier to unlock (just 50 gold bricks). They also kept LEGO City as an option too.
There is an alternative New Hope level where you play as Darth Vader and Stormtrooper.
All the stuff from LEGO Star Wars I is definitely improved to at least LSWII standards or better. |

Four words: the best game ever. This is the game that got me started playing with the xBox. Up to this point, I was a puzzle-game person (Peggle, JewelQuest, Nancy Drew, Agatha Christie and the like) and avoided most action games. Partly because I do get motion sick, and partly because I have the reflexes of a sloth. I've never been able to handle the action first-person shooter style games, but this one is different.
The camera angle, other than in a very few places, is such that I don't get motion sick and the fact that dying doesn't (usually) do anything bad but cost you money (until you're invincible) is great. It's a low-pressure game, and while a few of the situations can be a little frustrating (such as the jumping - at least until you get flying characters!) overall it's just good fun.
And long! This is a game where you get your money's worth, that's for sure. There are six episodes, each with six levels. In each level there are 4 objectives (True Jedi, Red Brick, Mini-kits, Blue Cannister Challenge), which require several play-throughs in different modes. There are also some bonus levels (Lego Town, New Lego Town, etc) and extra challenges (Jaba the Hutt's 'find the character' levels).
And last, but not least, you get the achievements - from the simple 'completed the level' to the fun 'let the wookie win' to the difficult 'complete a level without dying (and not being invincible)'.
The only thing I was disappointed in was what was built after all the gold bricks were acquired. It was a bit of a letdown, but barely puts a dent in the greatness of the game. This is the game that all future games will be measured against in my book. Cute, creative, fun, and simply amazing. Go play it today! Even if you're not an 'action game' sort of person. Really, you won't regret it. |

| I originally bought this game for my psp which was just the original trilogy (episodes IV, V, VI) and just loved the game to death, so when I got my X-Box 360 I had to get the complete Saga which would allow you to play all 6 movies. For one to start with this is not one of those bloody gory games that you don't want your kids playing it is very clean and innocent or as my wife puts it "cute". In the game you are playing your way through all 6 movies as Lego characters from the movie unlocking more characters and buying more characters, vehicles, and extras which can make the game lots of fun. This is not a game that you can play each level just once and be done. You'll find out you'll have to play each level several times as there are certain characters you have to have in order to beat the game in its entirety, so plan on playing the levels quite a few times. This is a game that the whole family can enjoy (2 at a time). So grab yourself a copy and May the force be with you.... |
yeah! Hours of fun!

| Loooove the lego games in general. They always have a good sense of humor and require a decent amount of puzzle solving. To have all the star wars stuff rolled into one leggo game is just awesome. I spend hours playing this with the daughter. It's good all around family fun. |
What fun and a GSOH.

| The Lego Star Wars games seem to have such wonderful humour. Although the Star Wars items have been done to death, this humour makes the game. It is fun, and challenging and suitable for all ages. Theres no language to be concerned about either. A long lasting game and multiplayer too. Very good value for money in my opinion. |
A winner for the whole family!

We all love this game and haven't been able to stop playing since we opened it on Christmas morning. This includes our 4 yr old, 8 yr old, 14 yr old and my husband and I too! Here are the reasons I think it is worth every penny for a family:
- combines 2 of my son's obsessions: Legos and star wars.
- challenging enough to keep you interested, but not so hard as to be frustrating.
- many different ways to track your successes, for example: 42 built- in "Game Achievements;" earning lego studs to purchase fun and goofy extras as well as characters to play and special powers; collecting canisters to assemble "mini-kits;" earning "True Jedi" status on each chapter, as well as just successfully completing each of six chapters in each of the 6 movies/episodes. This variety of ways to track your success means that almost any player can feel challenged *and* successful both.
- moderately challenging [but not frustratingly so] both in terms of physical/gamer agility [ability to use controller and manuever your characters] and mental/puzzle-solving and strategy. This means that it's equally fun for my 8 yr old who is a whiz with the controller and my slow 40 yr old fingers!
- is fun to play by yourself -- but also *great* for 2 players. As a mom, I love that 2 player mode keeps both players on the "same team." It encourages cooperative play. And it is easy for the second player to drop in and out. You do not have to switch games or re-start to add or leave. So we can pop in a game to help each other out during a particularly challenging section -- without committing to playing a whole chapter.
- As a family we easily have over 40 hours of game play in so far and no one is the least bit tired of it. There are so many permutations and extra rooms and puzzles -- some of which it's impossible to figure out your first [or second] time through a chapter. The game is designed so that even after you play through all 36 chapters in "story" mode [with the characters that should be in the scene according to the movie], there are puzzles and challenges to do and new areas to discover in each chapter in "free play" mode with new and different characters.
As a parent I am not a huge fan of too much video-gaming. But we spent a *lot* of time playing this *as a family* over the kids' break from school and I can honestly say that I consider it family-together time that was well-spent. I have no reservations about recommending this product. My only wish is that you could play it as a 3 or 4 person game.

Fantastic combo of both games!

| My two sons have been having a ball with this game and can't put down the controller. All they talk about is how they can play so many more characters than the other two Star Wars Lego games! I thinks it's a cute game that safe for my kids to play unlike a lot of games out there! Thanks Lego! |
Great game for adults and kids on XBOX 360.

I purchased this game to play with my grandson. I like it because it has puzzles/challenges, some shoot-em-up and yet is not violent. There's lots of cute stuff in the game for those of us who grew up with Star Wars. It's fun to see how the characters in Legos format look and act.
The harder challenges are over the head of a six-year old but we can play cooperatively and he enjoys the lesser challenges I leave to him.
We've just gotten started but covering all 6 episodes of Star Wars makes this a long-term gaming opportunity.

My whole family play's this game, from my 6 year old, to me the Dad.
It is one of few game that more than one person can play at the same time, and is actually more fun with 2 people. The game seems to follow the StarWars movies fairly closely, and is a lot of fun to play. |

I've played them all---Half Life series, Quake... and even Star Wars First FPS Dark Forces, all great games and I must say that I had a blast playing this game. It's not often that you play a game and find yourself laughing, and in this game just the expressions of the characters can make you do that. I played this at my Brothers house and spent a few hours with my Nephews and then with my Brother and we played it until I could not even keep my eyes open.
Graphics are basic, but yet very smooth and there are no problems with camera angles and controls. This game makes it very easy to get into so you can do just one thing---Enjoy the game and have fun. The game play action is sometimes interrupted with puzzles you need to solve in order to open doors and stuff like that, but that is what game of this type is all about.
Do I own this game? No Am I going to buy it? Hek yea, this might be the game that will get my wife into console gameing-----Oh ObiWon, don't fail me know, you are my last hope for gaming wife.
Enjoy the game, May the Force be with you! |

I was a little skeptical about these games ever since they came out. I had never played any of them and finally my curiosity got the best of me and I bought this game yesterday. Boy have I been missing out!!! This game is one of the most fun games I have ever played. You will love this game, especially if you love Star Wars like I do, or like Legos like I used to.
The combination of Star Wars and Legos is perfect. The gameplay is very smooth and very entertaining. This game brings me back to when I was a kid playing with Legos and I love that about this game. The game follows the movies very well also.
All six movies in one game = awesome. Also my girlfriend and I played this game for 3 hours straight last night. She does not like video games but she loved this one. There is no blood or gore, just Legos breaking apart so this game would be great for kids.
Overall a great game and I would recommend to everyone, even if you don't like Star Wars or Legos it would be fun (although a lot more fun if you do).

"Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is a fun and entertaining videogame for both children and adults alike. All six "Star Wars" films are represented in six separate games, which each game containing six levels. First you must play a level in "story" mode: meaning that you must play that level using characters as defined by the game. Once you complete a level, you can replay it in "free mode", which allows you to play it with any characters that you have unlocked to that point. A variety of items are hidden in each level, some of which cannot be accessed until you can play that level in "free mode". For example, some areas are only accessible to bounty hunters and some objects can only be accessed using the dark side of the force.
With each level successfully completed, the player earns a gold Lego block; and the more Lego pieces that are collected while playing a level, the more Lego "money" is earned, as well as the possibility of earning "Jedi status" for that level, which earns yet another gold Lego block. Finding hidden items in each level may unlock other abilities that can be purchased if you have earned enough Lego money. XBOX-360 Achievements are earned for completing each film-based game, as well as for other game accomplishments.
Since the game's developers went to great lengths to recreate the look and feel of the "Star Wars" universe, as well as the plot of each film, in a Lego-format, "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is an immersive game that is sure to provide many hours of entertainment and fun to anyyone. Hence, my overall rating for "Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" is a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

Our kids loved the game. I enjoyed watching them play. My boys are 7 and 9 years old and they really enjoyed the game. So much that we are now renting all 6 episodes to watch them on TV again.
